Nominations are being accepted until May 16th for the 2023 Linus Pauling Medal Award. Sponsored jointly by the American Chemical Society Portland, Puget Sound, and Oregon Local Sections, the award is presented annually in recognition of outstanding achievement in chemistry in the spirit of and in honor of Linus Pauling, who grew up in the Pacific Northwest. The medal will be presented at a Fall 2023 symposium at the University of Puget Sound campus in Tacoma, WA.

Nominations of women and other historically marginalized people are especially welcome. Please see below for a list of past recipients.
Nominations are due May 16, 2023 at 5 p.m. (PDT). Nominations may be emailed as PDF attachment(s) to pauling2023noms@acspss.org or submitted through the Pauling Medal Nomination Form.
A completed nomination package will contain:
- the nomination letter (750 words or less)
- an approximately 25 word citation
- a 2 page biographical sketch
- a list of the nominee’s most significant publications
- up to 2 letters of support (no specified length of letter)
