Mark your calendars for upcoming ACS Northwest Regional Meetings
An ACS Northwest Regional Meeting (NORM) is something like a boutique version of an ACS national meeting. They are great places for all chemists, chemical educators, students, and anyone in a discipline related to chemistry to share their work and ideas through symposia, poster sessions, award presentations, and informal networking. Career development, vendor exhibition, and plenary keynote sessions are also part of regional meetings. Travel and logistics are simpler and less expensive for attendance at a regional meeting as compared with a national meeting, yet they provide excellent opportunities for communication among people with similar scientific interests. The ACS Northwest Region Board (NOR Board) manages the scheduling of Northwest Regional Meetings (NORMs). See below for more information. Information about other regional meetings can be found here.

The 2025 NOR Board annual meeting will take place in late June 2025. At its upcoming meeting, the NOR Board anticipates receiving bids for NORM 2028, NORM 2029, and beyond. NORM meetings are invaluable opportunities for new and seasoned chemical professionals in the Northwest to learn, explore, network and socialize.
The NOR Board encourages your attendance and support for upcoming regional meetings. If your ACS local section is considering or has already committed to hosting a regional meeting, the NOR Board has required forms (many of which have specific deadlines), timeline suggestions and other useful resources that will facilitate meeting planning and contribute to a great meeting. The NOR board can provide example bids and can offer advice and assistance to complete bid preparation as well as other tasks.
