Congratulations to Puget Sound region students who participated in the 2026 US National Chemistry Olympiad!
High Honors were won by Vishnu Mangipudi (Lakeside School), Youran Wu (BASIS Independent Bellevue), Yunshang Chen (Redmond High School), Jihnaho Li (Newport High School), and Phil Yao (Newport Senior High School, WA).
Phil Yao was selected as one of only 20 students nationwide to participate in the US National Chemistry Olympiad Study Camp, May 31-June 13. With the other national finalists, Phil is contending for one of four seats from the US at the International Chemistry Olympiad, which will be held in July. Congratulations to all of our local honorees, and especially to Phil Yao as he contends for a spot at the International Chemistry Olympiad!
