The Section has a lot to celebrate at this year’s Awards Banquet. Our section was recognized at the national level with two ChemLuminary awards (more details under ChemLuminary Awards) and Dr Sheri Tonn was named Volunteer of the Year (2025) from the Puget Sound Section. The Education Committee had a banner year organizing a highly successful Chemistry Olympiad resulting in one student making it to the USA team and selecting two HS teachers from our area high schools doing outstanding work teaching chemistry. The Board allotted $10,000 close to one third of its budget to scholarships for college students and the Education Committee selected five students who received $2,000 each. Finally, the Board is pleased to welcome to the banquet all those who have reached the 50- and 60-year milestone anniversary as members of the society.
This year’s festivities will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Renton Technical College from 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Tickets are $37 (General) and $22 (Students). Link for registration: https://acspss.org/2025/08/01/awards-banquet-fall-2025/
